British Chamber Welcomes Approval of P1.3 trillion Economic Stimulus Measure

27 May 2020 – The British Chamber of Commerce welcomes the House Defeat COVID-19 committee’s approval of the Philippine Economic Stimulus Act (PESA) which will help secure sustained operations of business and help retain jobs. 

It also supports the call of the Department of Trade and Industry for the swift passage of the bill. The Chamber believes these measures will help restart the economy and provide support for small to medium-sized businesses. Aside from assistance to MSMEs, the bill also includes assistance to the tourism industry which is badly hit by the pandemic. 

The British Chamber has over 300 members comprising of multinationals and small and medium-sized businesses in key sectors such as aviation and tourism, real estate and financial services.
