THURSDAY, July 2 – The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) hosted a Business Breakfast on “Tackling Port Congestion in the Philippines” at Tower Club in Makati.
Mr. Alberto “Bert” Lina, the current Customs Commissioner, was invited as the keynote speaker for the event.
With over 60 guests in attendance, Mr. Lina talked about what the Bureau had done to resolve the issue of the Manila port congestion last year. Additionally, during the open forum, he emphasized how the conditions of the port could be further improved with the help of an efficient team, a working system, and collaboration among the government, different organizations like the BCCP, and different corporations as well.
In attendance were British Ambassador, HMA Asif Ahmad, who delivered the welcoming remarks to the guests, BCCP Chairman Chris Nelson, officials from UKTI, members of the BCCP, and several representatives from different corporations in the Philippines. Alveo Land was also present as a sponsor of the event.
