The advent of new technology has improved the efficiency of companies, but also posed concerns, one of which is data security. We have heard of various data breach, affecting not only the companies but the individuals themselves.

RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act was thus born to protect personal information that undergoes processing, privileged information, and sensitive personal information. Moreover, the law created the National Privacy Commission that would ensure the administration of this law.
