There is a growing body of evidence indicating that sustainability factors influence financial returns and present an opportunity to drive long-term value. Today, some of the world’s largest organisations are seeking to proactively manage and report on their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and to partner with or invest in “ESG ready” companies. Sustainability factors are part of the fundamentals needed to attain higher returns, organizational resilience, and stakeholder trust. By understanding how to integrate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into your value chain, you will be better positioned to uncover and act upon the most pressing threats and most promising opportunities facing your industry and your business.

The purpose of this workshop is to inform executives and governance leaders about how to incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations in view of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)s into their businesses to build the legacy, prosperity and continuity of their organisations. Reference will be made to the Philippine’s national outlook regarding sustainable development objectives. The event will combine an informational presentation component and an open discussion component in which business leaders can have an open space for discussion with their peers and raise their most pressing questions.

Key takeaways:

  • What the SDGs are and what they mean for business;
  • How is the Philippines addressing sustainable development;
  • Why an ESG perspective is the new normal for business;
  • How to consider corporate strategy as the basis to make sustainability-related information more decision-relevant for business success and investors;
  • How to effectively align the interests of your business with those of investors and society through a risk-based approach towards ESG performance
