7 March 2014 – Last Friday marked the first day of the culminating event of the This Is Great Britain campaign. The British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (BCCP) with the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) held a lunch reception at the Seda Hotel with British Ambassador Asif Ahmad.
Guest speakers at the event were BPI Executive Director, Antonio Paner and newly appointed Department of Finance Undersecretary Jose Emmanuel Reverente. Both speakers highlighted the achievements that the Philippine economy has achieved in the past year, attracting foreign businesses, particularly British businesses, to invest in the Philippines.
Ambassador Ahmad stressed that those companies who wish to set up businesses in the UK should not hesitate in asking for assistance from the Embassy, as he encourages more bilateral trade to happen between the two countries.
BCCP General Manager, Chris Boughton, ended the lunch by thanking the guests for their presence and encouraged everyone to visit the Trade Exhibition booths at Bonifacio High Street which was part of the Great British Festival.
