Dates: 17-20 November 2014
Interested in exploring your export potential in one of South East Asia's fastest growing economies? We have an opportunity for you to join the Philippine British Business Council's Trade Mission, set to take place on 17th – 20 November 2014.
Previously described by the World Bank as the "rising tiger" of Asia, continuously reporting steady economic growth, the Philippines continues to attract more capital from abroad, with levels of foreign direct investment reaching a record high in July. The UK is a major source of foreign direct investment, reaching PHP6.7 billion in 2012, signifying growing British interest in investing in the Philippines.
As one of the largest English-speaking counties in the world, with a young workforce and an expanding middle class with an appetite for imported brands, it's a great time to come and explore the investment opportunities available to your business and realising your export potential.
The PBBC Trade Mission to the Philippines – 17 – 20 November
As part of the PBBC Delegation, UK companies (exporters or potential investors) will have the chance to gain exposure in the market, explore further opportunities, and meet senior business contacts utilising local business and government networks. The programme will include networking events, meeting local Chamber members and businesses, attending relevant trade shows or events and briefings with key Government departments. There will also be the opportunity to add additional 1-1 meetings utilising the British Chamber services. The Delegation will be led by PBBC's UK Chairman Nigel Rich. UK firms are required to meet their own travel and accommodation costs and contribute to organisational costs incurred for arrangements of the program. Please contact Eamonn Staunton or Chloe Taylor for further information.
The PBBC
The Philippine British Business Council (PBBC) exists both to create and to add value to the trade, investment and business links between Britain and the Philippines. We do not duplicate the work of existing trade and investment promotion and institutions, but will add a new level of creativity and initiative based on the business acumen, experience and contacts of its members. The PBBC is business-led with its members drawn from senior decision-making levels of companies taking part. It promotes trade between The Philippines and Britain and includes Philippine British co-chairmen in ICT, Agribusiness, Power/Energy, Retail and Tourism sectors although the PBBC Business Delegation in November offers all UK firms the chance to engage with this important and strategic market for the UK.
The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) International UK Business Network
BCCP is an independent, non-profit membership organisation with primary objectives to support its members' business and social interests in Britain and the Philippines, and deliver practical business support to its members through its International UK Business Network and British Business centre. Jointly initiated by the British Chambers of Commerce and UK Trade and Investment, the International UK Business Network provides guidance and advice to UK small and medium enterprises (SMEs) interested in exporting or investing in the Philippines.
