BCCP Appoints New General Manager

The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Chris Boughton as the new General Manager of the Chamber, effective immediately.

Previously Chris was the Regional Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for Cambridge University Press as well as their Chief Information Officer for several years and has lived in Manila since 2007. Originally from the UK, he was also based in Hong Kong for 14 years, in senior commercial positions with Dow Jones Telerate.

Roger Lamb, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber said “We are very pleased to have someone of Chris’ experience to lead the Chamber.  We are expanding our activities significantly over the next 18 months, with the support of the UK government, to help UK SMEs to invest in the Philippines, whilst still continuing to support all our Members’ activities in the Philippines…”

“I am excited and honoured to be helping the Board of the Chamber to expand the scope of the Chamber’s operations.” said Chris. “Helping British companies to set up and invest in the Philippines, my adopted home, is a very satisfying and challenging role. I am also looking forward to meeting all our Members and providing them with the support they require to help them develop our British/Philippine business. I would encourage all companies with British ties, and those seeking to do business with the UK, to join the Chamber.”

British Ambassador to the Philippines, HE Asif Ahmad said “We are pleased to have someone of Chris’ experience to lead this initiative to grow Philippine / British trade.”
