BritCham Philippines granted international accreditation

February 2016 – The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP or Britcham Philippines) is pleased to announce its successful accreditation from the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).

Achieving accreditation is a significant milestone for BritCham Philipines. It assures clients and stakeholders that the services they will receive are delivered based on highest standards set by the BCC. This development is also an opportunity for BritCham Philippines to strengthen ties with international counterparts around the globe and gives wider access to the BCC’s global business network. It came at the most opportune time as BritCham Philippines doubles its efforts in boosting UK-PH trade through its Business Support Services.

“BCC’s accreditation reinforces our commitment to strengthening bilateral trade relations between the Philippines and the UK.  The Philippines is an emerging market that remains abundant with business opportunities that British companies can take advantage of and we are here to support and assist them in their exporting journey,” Chris Nelson, BritCham Philippines’ Executive Chairman said.

A joint project of the British Embassy and BritCham Philippines, the Overseas Business Network Initiative (OBNi) has been assisting UK Small and Medium Companies in doing business or in exporting to the Philippines. Since its inception in 2014,  BritCham Philippines provided market introduction support to 20 British companies. Two of these UK companies from the pharmaceutical sector have successfully found local distributors for their products and a software technology company was also able to set up a back office through the local contacts introduced by the Chamber.

“It’s a very exciting time here in the Philippines with more British companies signifying their interest to export/ do business in the market. BritCham Philippines is at the forefront of this development championing the business interest of British companies particularly the SMEs,” Nelson added.
