    Tuesday, 16 March 2021
    2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

With the first phase of COVID-19 vaccines being rolled out since December 2020, nation states have been scrambling to get their own supply as economic recovery appears to be dependent on the immediate immunization of the community.  Global economic inequality has been further exacerbated by the impacts of the pandemic, and so the outlook of developing countries, particularly the Philippines, will be greatly impacted over the succeeding years.

Through the academe, private sector, and government, the webinar aims to make sense of how the Philippines can cope with these economic realities. Dr. Nina Gloriani, Chair of the Department of Science and Technology  expert vaccine panel on COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials and former Dean of the UP College of Public Health,  will provide insights on the status of vaccine accessibility in the country, Mr. John Ravelas, First VP/Chief Strategist of BDO Unibank, we will delve into the Philippine economic outlook and how this will be affected by the vaccine distribution. To conclude,  Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillion of the National Economic and Development Authority will briefly present the updated Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 and how this has been adapted to the  health crisis that disrupted Philippines’ economic development.
