The electricity tariff in the Philippines is among the highest in Asia. The food and beverage (F&B) industry, as the largest manufacturing sector in the country, is affected by this due to its energy intensive nature. With the recent signing of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act by President Duterte, these companies are likely to face even further pressure as a result of policies that will likely be implemented under this Act.

By implementing simple and effective energy efficiency measures, businesses can benefit from cost savings as a result of reduced energy consumption and become more competitive. This webinar will offer insights on the state of energy consumption by the F&B sector in the Philippines and market trends on the adoption of energy efficiency measures.

The webinar will also address the following questions:

  • Why should F&B companies care about energy efficiency?
  • What are some energy savings opportunities available in the F&B sector?
  • What can F&B companies do to reduce energy use?
  • How can F&B companies seek support to improve their energy efficiency performance?

The webinar is delivered by the UK-ASEAN Energy Efficiency Accelerator, a technical assistance programme funded by that UK Government’s Prosperity Fund’s ‘ASEAN Low Carbon Energy Programme’ (LCEP). The Accelerator will deliver technical assistance and capacity building to companies in the F&B sector in Philippines, supporting them to improve energy performance.
