Lord Green Meets BCCP

The UK Minister for Trade and Investment, Lord Green of Hurstpierpoint, visited the Philippines on Sept 16-18 to further strengthen trade relations between the two countries.

During the visit, Lord Green accompanied by the British Ambassador Designate Asif Ahmad and UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) Manila Director Iain Mansfield, attended the Meeting of the Board of Directors of the British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP).

Discussions focussed on a major new investment project from the UK government that will enable the British Chamber to dramatically extend its support of UK SMEs coming to the Philippines.

Lord Green and Roger Lamb, Chairman of the BCCP signed a Memorandum of Understanding setting out the terms of the new partnership, which Mr Lamb said reflected “a historic step forward for the British Chamber”.

A lunch reception immediately after the Board Meeting allowed all Members of the Chamber a chance to meet Lord Green and discuss the business opportunities in the Philippines.
